TDA TEAM CONCERT INFO

Your Go-To Guide for everything to do with our TDA Concert

Concert is one of the biggest moments of our year for students and families - a celebration of student growth and artistry.

Showcase dancer talents and push them to excel - Every student should be seen and have a moment at the front.

GOAL: CALM & CONFIDENT

HOW CONCERT WORKS FOR US?

CONCERT SPREADSHEET

• The spreadsheet is our single source of truth for concert season. It's a live, working document that the whole team builds from.

• If something isn't in the spreadsheet, it doesn't get done. This works alongside Slack messages, not instead of them, so keep both updated.

HOW CONCERT WORKS FOR US?

CONCERT GUIDELINES

Ballet

• One lesson each week is a technique lesson, and one is technique plus concert.

• Teachers decide between themselves who is covering concert content, following the Term 3 and 4 lesson plans.

• Ballet concert content only begins after exams.

Jazz, Acro and Contemporary

• Term 3: 45 minutes technique for 2027 grade dancers, 15 minutes concert.

• Term 4: 30 minutes technique, 30 minutes concert. By the end of term, this can move to a full concert lesson.

KLT

As KLT is a technique based class, there is no concert dance for this class.

Level of concert dancers

Concert should be a genuine showcase of what our dancers can do. Choreography should sit at the level of the grade they're starting to work towards next, not the grade they've just finished.

Props

• No acro mats for any classes.

• Dot markers are for Kindy and Pre-Junior classes only.

• Props are kept to a minimum, only used where they add major visual or storytelling impact, and must be approved before use.

Student Teachers

• All Little Wings and Pre-Junior classes have a student teacher on stage with them. Please let Hannah know if you don't have one or enough in class and need

• Junior classes may have a student teacher if needed.

• Student Teachers dance facing the front at concert & are there to support our dancers

• Student Teachers should be on stage to help the dancers & not take away from them

MUSIC & ROUTINE NAME

Monday 3 August

• Choose age appropriate music: theme, tone, sound and lyrics should all suit the age group.

• Music length: 2 minutes 30 seconds for all classes.

• Cutting music: AI tools are now very good at simple cuts with clear beats. GarageBand or Audacity are great alternatives.

• AI Music Generation:

Routine name should link the dance to the theme (doesn't have to be song name)

• Before adding your choice, search the spreadsheet (Ctrl+F) to check there are no double ups.

List your choice in the spreadsheet and wait for approval (marked green) before teaching it.
